The Emporia Public library offers free computer access to users of all ages. We offer 17 computers for general public use, 6 computers in the Young Adult Area, and 4 computers in the Children’s Room. Sessions are 60 minutes long, and the ability to add additional time will be available if there are no reservations. In addition, the Children's Room is equipped with an AWE Early Literacy Station (ELS) and 3 iPads preloaded with programs for children.

All computers are equipped with Windows, high-speed Internet access, and Microsoft Office 2010. All computers are also equipped with the ability to print to the public printers. All public access computers provided by the library are filtered and follow Children's Internet Protection Act Policy.

Public Access Computers and YA Area Computers:

We offer 17 computer stations in the Public Access Computer Area and 6 stations in the Young Adult Area. The 6 stations in the Young Adult area are geared toward our Young Adult patrons (Grade 6 and higher), while the Public Access Computer Area is available for everyone. All computer sessions are 60 minutes at a time.

Time can be extended by 30 minutes if there are no reservations for that computer.

All computers are equipped with the ability to print through our Print Kiosk. If the computers are full, patrons can reserve a computer when one comes available through our Reservation Kiosk.

Patrons are required to have an EPL library card to access the reference and young adult area computers.

Children’s Room:

We offer 5 computer stations in the children’s room, one of those being an AWE Early Literacy Station (ELS).

Wireless Internet

The Emporia Public Library offers free Wi-Fi access throughout the building. There is no password required. The library does not provide wireless printing. At this time, patrons have to either put their document on a flash drive or email it to themselves. Then they can log into one of our public machines and print the document. Prints are $0.15 per page for black and white and $1.00 per page for color.

For more information about our public computer and Wi-Fi access, please read our Internet and Computer Use Policy.
