The Interlibrary Loan Department borrows items from other libraries across the nation. This gives our patron access to books, movies, and many other items that Emporia Public Library does not own.
No, there is no fee to use this service for our patrons.
A patron will be contacted by phone or email. It is important to keep your library account up to date with your current phone and address. If your phone or address is not correct the ILL you ordered will be sent back immediately.
All interlibrary loans can be picked up at the circulation desk on the first floor. The items are held for a week after a patron is contacted that the item is ready to be picked up. If a patron fails to pick up the item by the hold date, then the item will be sent back to the lending library.
DVDs, videos have a one week checkout. All other materials will checkout for three weeks unless the lending library gives a shorter due date, if that is the case the patron will be informed of this when they are notified their item is available.
DVDs, videos and microfilm are not renewed. All other materials may be renewed but they must be approved by the lending library. Please call a few days before your ILL is due so we can put in a renewal request to the lending library.
We prefer that interlibrary loan materials be returned inside the library, but if that is not possible please return it in one of the book drops in the east parking lot.
Yes. DVDs and videos are $1(dollar) a day and all other materials are $.10 (ten cents) a day.
